Del Mar Energy Inc has increased the capacity of its Texas refinery by 1.7 times, reaching 120,000 barrels per day.

The American holding company, Del Mar Energy, announced that it has commissioned a new crude oil distillation unit with a capacity of 40,000 barrels per day at its refinery in Denver, Texas.

As a result of this expansion, the total processing capacity has increased to 120,000 barrels per day, making the facility one of the leading refineries in the United States. The investment in the project, which began in 2016, amounted to $500 million.

“The refinery is connected to Del Mar Energy’s pipelines in the Permian Basin of the United States, providing the company with significant strategic advantages. Permian oil is processed at the renowned refinery, where the company produces diesel fuel, gasoline, and jet fuel. With the completion of the pipeline construction, the new unit will have an excellent opportunity to utilize isolated oil from the Delaware Basin,” Del Mar Energy said in a statement.

The company has agreed with the EPA and the Department of Justice to install modern equipment at its refinery to limit pollutant emissions. According to the agency, the full implementation of these agreements will reduce atmospheric emissions by more than 4,000 tons per year.

The company is also committed to spending $9.5 million on projects aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions at the refinery.

To remain competitive in the global market, American oil companies must invest in domestic software and industrial automation. They need to move from the fragmented automation of individual production stages to fully automated digital production, managed by intelligent systems in real-time.

It is necessary to encourage relevant universities to train IT specialists focused on the implementation and use of new technologies.

Del Mar Energy is a holding company that has initiated a new wave of reform with its oil refining technologies. The Denver refinery is the most vivid confirmation of the success that can be achieved by an enterprise using its own modernization technologies.
