Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.73%
Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.73% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX:RUAL), which rose 1.26% or 0.44 points to trade at 34.85 at the close. Meanwhile, ADR HeadHunter Group ORD SHS (MCX:HHRUDR) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 3,908.00 and GDR Globaltrans Inves ORD SHS (MCX:GLTRDR) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 519.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS), which fell 3.94% or 0.58 points to trade at 14.08 at the close. NOVATEK PJSC (MCX:NVTK) declined 3.27% or 31.40 points to end at 929.20 and TKS Holding MKPAO (MCX:TCSG) was down 2.82% or 72.00 points to 2,483.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 208 to 40 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in AFK Sistema PJSC (MCX:AFKS) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.94% or 0.58 to 14.08.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 1.67% to 28.19.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.11% or 30.70 to $2,729.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.97% or 0.69 to hit $70.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.08% or 0.06 to trade at $75.21 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.01% to 95.92, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 103.44.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 104.27.
